Clubmutt FAQ's
Why should I register with Clubmutt?
Two Reasons. First, any money given to Clubmutt goes to support their office facility, staff, and mixedbreed humanity programs. In contrast, A percentage of every dollar is paid to Clubmutt programs for mixes and recognition of mixed-breed and their owners. Clubmutt will also provide a newsletter, with pertinate information for you and your pet.

If I register, where can I show my dog?
We hope with the help of our staff and it's members Clubmutt will also sponsor North Carolina and national events in the future. If sponsored events are not available in your area, contact us for we always welcome sugestions to make our club the best.

Does clubmutt offer opportunities in Agility?
Effective January 1, 2004, NADAC and Clubmutt will offer NADAC-registered agility clubs the option to hold NADAC dual sanctioned trials (triple-sanctioning with ASCA is also possible). Please click here for the NADAC section. Also in '04, Clubmutt will offer separate national agility mixed-breed ranking systems for those competing in UKC agility or NADAC agility.

How can I help to organize Clubmutt/mixedbreed trial in my area?
It’s easier than you think. If you have a group of people together or your obedience club would like to host a trial, call us so we can explain the requirements. We can provide you with a list of members in your area and will promote your show on the website and in our newsletter.

Is spay/neuter a mandatory requirement for registration?
Clubmutt recomends that all mixedbreed and dogs not recognized by the American kennel Club.
Responsible pet ownership includes spay/neutering of all mixed-breeds.
Rare Breeds, JRTCA members, and other purebreds are exempt with the proper paperwork.

My pet is a Rare Breed. Can I still register with Clubmutt?
Rare Breeds not recognized by the AKC, UKC or CKC may register provided the Rare Breed Supplemental Form is submitted along with other required information listed on that form. Should the breed become recognized, the handler has the option of retaining Clubmutt status or registering the dog with the AKC or UKC, but not both.

Does Clubmutt offer Basic Training classes?
clubmutt does not offer Basic Training classes, but we have a database of reputable trainers and schools listed by state.

My dog is lame, deaf or blind. Can I register him?
Dogs with physical handicaps or defects other than deafness are especially eligible for registration with full privileges.

How old should my dog be before enrolling in Clubmutt preferred obedience class?
Your dog should be a minimum of six months old to enroll in an obedience class, but puppy training can begin right away. Click on the puppy training link to learn more.
